Nissan is partnering with engine giant, Cummins to supply its power plant of a 4.0 liter V6 or a 5.6 liter V8 while ZF will supply the all automatic gearboxes.
The The NV2500 concept, which Japanese automaker branded as "the idea lab", is the biggest concepts Nissan has ever made. According to Bruce Campbell, Nissan Design's VP, Nissan's goal was to make commercial vehicles that are far from the usual concept of box on wheels. Sources from Nissan said the company spent 5 years in research and development to come up with this technologically advanced vehicle.
The new vehicle has a body on frame construction mounted on the Titan pickup truck's F-Alpha platform. It has a total length of 19.5 feet with a 12.3ft wheelbase and an interior height of 8ft. Workers can stand in the cargo area which can easily carry a 10.5ft long object when the passenger seats are folded.
More space was created with the noticeable absence of protruding floor surface that houses the power train.

Inside, you'll find an ultra modern interior that perfectly blended the use of plastics and wood. this mobile office is equipped with a wireless desktop with an oversized monitor is located just behind the driver's seat, the passenger seat can be folded flat to turn into a work desk or turn into a swivel chair to access the desktop at the rear. There is a built-in laser blueprint printer mounted on the ceiling, a removable center console and plenty of storage space for those little tools in the field. Lighting efficiency is achieved through the use of glass roofing.
The ultramodern cockpit area's instrument panel has customizable navigation system, crisp audio system, climate control and display. The mid console hides a retractable power cord. Above, small storage shelves provide easy access to small tools or papers and the centrally mounted cooling fan ispowered by solar energy.
Outside, the NV2500 rolls in style with a 20 inch aluminum billet wheels and a cool windshield featuring a wrap around style, a tow hook is thoughtfully out in place to serve as step for easier access to the engine bay. There's a glass roof on the rear portion that not only provides natural lighting but as well as electricity with its embedded solar panels. Upfront, the wide grills are reminiscent of the Nissan Patrol. Some other features are standard in the NV like retractable mirrors, side and rear door steps than can be flipped down mechanically, LED lighting for both front and rear.
The doors are complex and feature a pioneering design in functionality the driver's side door, which looks bigger than it should has an integrated storage compartment located behind the driver's seat and is accessible from the outside when the doors are open. The passenger side door features an awning-type door that opens vertically and can turn into an exterior table to serve a variety of purpose from a variety of business activities such as construction, a booth for farmers or as a utility truck for hot air balloons and many more. The rear doors have a 60/40 split opening and features an electronic rear step for easier access.
