Technical Specs


Mercedes Benz SL is available in three models- SL65 AMG, the SL63 AMG, and SL550. SL550 is designed with a 5.5-liter V8 engine to develop 382 horsepower and teamed to a 7-speed automatic transmission, whereas the SL63 AMG includes a hand-built 6.3-liter V8 engine for generating 518 hp and connected to a seven-speed MCT transmission, which is not available in any other Mercedes models. SL65 is designed with a larger 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12 engine to develop 604 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Both SL65 AMG and SL63 AMG are featured with aluminum shift paddles, whereas the other models are designed with an adaptive suspension with Active Body Control (ABC) and aggressive AMG body styling.


Standard Equipments


The traditional package on every SL-class model comprises of a power retractable hardtop, dual zone automatic climate control, heated leather seats, satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, a voice-activated hard drive-based navigation system with four gigabytes of internal media storage, and a satellite radio. Moreover, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, bi-xenon headlamps with active curve illumination, an electronic stability program (ESP) with traction control, an automatically deployable rollover bar, and the Mercedes mbrace system are also equipped in safety package.


For 2011, all models 2011 Mercedes Benz SL are designed with an advanced tire pressure monitoring system. In addition to that, the SL600 model has been discontinued for the series.
